Odie Visits Capitol Hill

Pet Peace of Mind was honored to be included in the We Are Hospice event hosted by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, January 15 in Washington, DC.  It was a chance to showcase the many facets of hospice care and to discuss policy issues with members of Congress. Bon Secours Hospice, our partner of five years, joined us for the event.

Ellen Manning, Volunteer Services Manager for Bon Secours Hospice, also brought Odie. Odie was a patient’s dog who found a new forever home through the Pet Peace of Mind program. Tracey Waldbauer, a hospice nurse with Bon Secours Hospice, also joined us. Tracey is an avid Pet Peace of Mind supporter and co-chair of HAPPE (Homeless Animal Protection, Placement & Education), the rescue group with which they partner. Sweet Odie was a hit with guests and participants alike!

Pictured are Congresswoman Donna Shalala (D-FL), Ellen Manning, and Odie.
